We're a Credit Union!
If you know about Credit Unions then you know that
we are a not-for-profit cooperative, member owned,
with a Board of Directors who volunteer their time
and services. If you have an account with us,
then you are one of our member-owners.
Credit Unions exist for members
to help members, not to create a profit for
stockholders. This unique business model
allows Credit Unions to return earnings to their
members in the form of higher rates on savings and
charging lower interest rates on loans, many
services are free or low-cost.
Morton Credit Union is a State
Chartered credit union. That means MCU falls
under the oversight and direction of the Kansas
Department of Credit Unions. Our member's
accounts are backed by the full faith and credit of
the federal government. Each member's savings
accounts are insured by National Credit Union
Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government Agency, to
at least $250,000.
